I am interested in any information available on the family of JOHN
STATHAM, born prior to 1760 in Louisa or Albemarle County VA. He died in
1823 in Elbert County GA. His father was LOVE STATHAM, who was married to
MARTHA MERIWETHER. John Statham signed a Dissenters Petition on Nov. 9,
1776. An early source on the family states that they were Quakers and that
that is why we do not have any early Virginia marriage records on them. Is
anyone familiar with this family? One other source mentions Hanover County
as the location of a Quaker community that had Statham's as members. My
line descends from PLEASANT STATHAM who married NANCY GOLDSMITH on July 11,
1816 in Putnam County GA.

Any information on the families mentioned here would be greatly
appreciated. I would be glad to share the info that I have, which is good
for the nineteenth century and weaker earlier.
