Agnes Crockett, b. 1715 CountyAntrim, Northern Irela nd, by @ 1730 in County Antrim, and migrated toAmerica with wife and three sons, James, Samu el and John, in 1740,entering at Philadelphia and migrating down into Augusta Co., VA,settl ing on Back Creek on the north fork of the James River, a fewmiles west of Staunton. Rober t died in Augusta Co., VA in 1762 andAgnes bought land in what would become Laurens Co., S C in 1766. thelast reference for Agnes in Chalkley is for 1770. At some point after1770, Ag nes and five or six of her sons migrated to Laurens Co., SC.

Notes:

*John Young (Andrew Lamont Young, Sir John Lamont) m. Annie Houston inCounty Antrim before 1 695. He is the only known son of Andrew andMary Adair Young, but there were probably others . Possible siblingsfor John include: James, Robert, Matthew, Charles and William, asfound i n the Carmoney Church records in County Antrim, NorthernIreland. There were possibly others . Many Youngs still live in theLarne area who probably descend from Andrew Young. Annie Hous ton isfrom the same family as Texas' Sam Houston. There are some entries inChalkley's Cour t References of the Scots/Irish Settlement of AugustaCo., VA that suggest that John may hav e come to America with hisadult children. If these references are to this John Young, then i tis a certainty that he had a brother James, as James is madeadministrator of this John's e state and referred to as John'sbrother. This John died in 1747. James then died before he co uld getJohn's estate settled. Research is ongoing.
