Ogden- William Dudley Hamblin, 67, of 546 28th Street, Ogden, died Monday, December 15, 1980, of causes pending State Medical Examiner’s report.
Born December 9, 1913, in Ramah, New Mexico. A son of John Dudley and Emma Celestia Willden Hamblin. Married Eva Mae Hardy, October 22, 1940, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died January 7, 1958. He then married Angela V. Araia Sategna, September 24, 1963, in Hunter, Utah, their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. In his early life he had been a farmer and a trucker. Employed by Swift and Co. until 1970, then involved in construction and mining until his death. He lived in Red Mesa, Colorado, Delta, Farmington, and Morgan, Utah before settling in Ogden in 1963. Active member of the Ogden 26th Ward, where he had served as bishop, high priest group leader, and Sunday School teacher. Had worked in the Mia and Scouting programs in various wards.
Survivors: widow, Ogden; two daughters, Mrs. John (Evelyn) Pfnister, Moab, Mrs. Bret (Debbie) Hines, Ogden; one step-daughter, Mrs. Paul (Angie) Palmer, Kooskia, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; three brothers, two sisters, Emer Jay Hamblin, Parowan, Utah; George Melvin Hamblin, Audobon, New Jersey; Paul Hamblin, Clearfield; Mrs. Velda Riding, Blanding, Utah; Mrs Ava Tolbert, Reno, Nevada.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindquist & Sons Colonial Chapel, Friday, 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Bruce Bowen of the Ogden 26th Ward officiating. Friends may call at the Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
