  This came from the Okanagan Historical Society: Prather Creek: 2 1/2 miles long, and enters into Daves Creek, is east of Kelowna. Named after Oliver Bruce Prather, who pre-empted in 1893. Came in a covered wagon trek of Missourians who originally homesteaded in Idaho in 1880. October 6, 1904 edition of the Kelowna Clarion: Mr. and Mrs. Prather and Orva returned from a few months visit to St. Louis fair and Eastern States. 1901 Census Returns: Okanagan Valley (Kelowna and District): Bruce Prather hd. b.
