The Pin Oak web page incorrectly lists my 2nd great grandfather as John Haywood Moore b. 5 Jan 1815 d. 18 Dec 1882. This is an interpretation since both the original and new gravestones both identify him as Haywood Moore (pix attached). This mis-interpretation arose from the 1860 Fayette TX census record which lists the father as Haywood Moore age 45 with a son Haywood Moore, Jr. age 4. When the son Haywood Moore, Jr. grows up his name is John Haywood Moore- which lead to the incorrect interpretation that the father was John Haywood Moore, Sr. There are numerous records of many types for Haywood Moore, and he never is anything but Haywood Moore.
