      ST. CLAIR WALKER was born May 8, 1816, in Barren (now Metcalfe)County,
      Ky., where he grew to manhood and has always resided. His father,
      Sanders Walker, a native of Orange County, Virginia, was born in 1772;
      removed to Barren County, Ky., about 1800, where he died in 1859. He
      was the son of Thomas Walker, of Virginia. Sanders Walker married
      Margaret Garvin, of Virginia (born in 1783, died in 1855), and from
      their union sprang Jane E. (Hooper), Elizabeth J. (Baird), St. Clair,
      Sanders and James G. St. Clair obtained a common school education.He
      married, in 1839, Martha A., daughter of Joel and Elizabeth (Cook)
      Bradley, of Barren County (born June 16, 1819, died February 11,1871),
      and to them have been born Sanders J., Quintilla P. (Bradley), William
      C. and Cyrus B. September 18, 1871, he married, the second time,Martha
      A., daughter of James and Nancy (Petty) Bradley, of Barren County(born
      October 19, 1843), and from their union there is no living issue. Mr.
      Walker is a farmer, having 130 acres of well improved land in a high
      state of cultivation. He is a member of the United Baptist Church,and
      in politics is a stanch Democrat.
