  • Notes
    • *John Young (Andrew Lamont Young, Sir John Lamont) m. Annie Houston inCounty Antrim before 1 695. He is the only known son of Andrew andMary Adair Young, but there were probably others . Possible siblingsfor John include: James, Robert, Matthew, Charles and William, asfound i n the Carmoney Church records in County Antrim, NorthernIreland. There were possibly others . Many Youngs still live in theLarne area who probably descend from Andrew Young. Annie Hous ton isfrom the same family as Texas' Sam Houston. There are some entries inChalkley's Cour t References of the Scots/Irish Settlement of AugustaCo., VA that suggest that John may hav e come to America with hisadult children. If these references are to this John Young, then i tis a certainty that he had a brother James, as James is madeadministrator of this John's e state and referred to as John'sbrother. This John died in 1747. James then died before he co uld getJohn's estate settled. Research is ongoing.
