I believe his first wife was Mary Elizabeth Huddleston (from the Arkansas Marriages 1850-1900, they married July 25, 1876, Montgomery County, Arkansas). Mary E. was the mother of Pearl Bates. I also believe that Mollie Bates, another daughter of Mary & A.A. Bates,married Thomas Marion Summers. I also found a listing in SSDI for Joseph Cogburn born 17 Nov 1889; died Feb 1978 in Leflore Co, OK--I will try to see if I can locate an obit for him to decide if he is 'ours!' I notice that Nellie Summers Cogburn does not appear in the list above--I have her listed as being buried there.
