      1976
      Funeral services for Elmira Luciel (Karnes) Hamrick
      were held Tuesday, April 6, 1976 at 4:00 p.m. in
      Wilkins Funeral Chapel. Rev. E.B. Tabor officiated.
      Burial was in the Center City Cemetery.
      Mrs Hamrick passed away Sunday, April 4, 1976
      at Childress Hospital, Goldthwaite, at the age of 84. She
      was born March 14, 1892 in Mills County, the daughter
      of James and Nancy Tubbs Nichols. She was married
      to C.A. Karnes, who preceded her in death, on
      October 10, 1912. One daughter also precedes her in
      death, in 1960. Mrs Karnes moved to Goldthwaite from
      Brownwood in 1965.
      Survivors include her husband, Jim Hamrick; two
      sons Weldon Karnes of Brownwood and N.C. Karnes
      of Goldthwaite; two daughters, Mrs Charlene Boyd of
      Brownwood and Mrs. Vada Shipman of Mullin; 21
      grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two sisters
      Mrs. Clemmie Venable of Goldthwaite and Mrs. Pearl
      Doggett of Austin.
      Pallbearers were Bob Steen, Elbert Phillips, Tommy
      Shelton, Steve Singleton, Richard Sheltom, and Albert
      Frazier.
      Honary pallbearers were her grandsons, James
      Karnes, Charles Karnes, Noah Karnes, Leo Karnes,
      Robert Karnes, Leslie Karnes and Bill Alldredge.
