  Cindy Miller MCVAY-SHADOWEN- PETTY My great-grandmother was Lily Mae McVay Blair, born at/near Kuttawa around 1889. Parents were Julia and William McVay. Looking for more information on William, who died around 1900, as Julia is a widow with four children in the 1900 Lyon County census, keeping house for her father, Shad Owens (according to census) or Allen Shadowen(according to Julia's 1941 death certificate). Research on the McVayline deadends here because of the lack of 1890 census. Also interested in contact/information on any of Julia's other descendants there through her children, sons Lee McVay and Wilson McVay, daughter Esther McVay ?, and daughter by second marriage to William H.
