JULY 23, 1921-OCT. 27, 2005 Dorothy Franklin Gibson, 84, of 163 Chantilly Court, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Washington County Hospital. Born July 23, 1921, in Abilene, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Lucian V. Franklin and Lois McClure Franklin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gibson, in 1997. She was a graduate of Texas Public Schools and Abilene Christian College. She was employed by the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1976. She is survived by one son, Richard D. Gibson of College Park, Md.; two brothers, Lucian V. Franklin Jr. of Rockville, Md., and Billy M. Franklin of Mason, Texas; nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Virgie F. White. Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard McGough will officiate. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
