    • Son of Theophilus and Priscilla (Grinnell) Redfield, Peleg formed a company during the French and Indian Wars. In 1759 he took a commission as Captain and let a company of ninety men for the prosecution against the French in Canada. Peleg died of smallpox during his return to his home in Killingworth, CT, leaving his wife Sarah (Dudley) with six children: Beriah; Sarah; Ebenezer; Abigail (q.v.); Lydia; and Roxanna
