Notes - The "Indian War" that the various authors refer to was probably the raid on Narraganset Swamp in 1675 at the culmination of King Philip's War where a force of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Plymouth men marched and fought the Indians. The battle was very bloody; a more complete account can be found in the discussion of Narragansett battle who was one of the Massachusetts' combatants, and who's brother Mark was one of the casualties.
Apparently, Nathaniel's widow moved the family to Killingworth, probably after her marriage to Nathaniel Hayden.
