Census Index: U.S. Selected Counties, 1820 Individual: Bushons, James County/State: Ross Co., OH Location: Franklin Twp Page #: 269 Year: 1820 Listed as "Beshong, James" on Marriage Index SOURCE: Bushong Bulletin 15:2 (Summer 1999) p. 31 - Moved to Logan Co OH in 1821 and left a will dated 10 Jan 1824, probated 6 Apr 1824 inwhichhe mentions wife Nancy, son Jacob, and 2 daughters Delelee and Gemima.The will was witnessed by John Bushong. All sources indicate that Milton was born 22 Oct 1826 and none of the sketches on his life name his parents. In 1850 Nancy is living with newly-married Milton and Louisa. Ginny Derhammer (ginnyd@prodigy.net) Catharine and Valentine move to Adams Co Ohio which becomes Ross Co Ohio where she dies in 1817. Her sons Jacob, John, Henry and George are all mentioned in document's handeling her estate . George and Henry from Barren Co, and John and Jacob from Ross. James Bushong is a Witness , and a Margaret McCrery made her mark- James was married to a Nancy McCreary.Margaret must have been her 'legal call name' and Nancy a middle name that she preferred to use.
