Mr. Bushong had been will only a week and it was thought he was improving and he had been up and around the house the day of his death. It is thought the immediate cause of his death was heart failure as he had been bothered with this affliction in the past.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, June 10 at the family home conducted by Rev. Charles Peterson of Wagarville M.E. church and interment took place in Highland cemetery, Gladwin .
The pallbearers were his sons, son-in-laws and one nephew. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. All the children excepting Mrs. Margaret Casselman, who is ill at her home in Flint, were in attendance at the funeral. Others who attended the funeral from a distance were: Emerson Vanscoder, Harry Vanscoder, and Benj. Eisenbach of Pandora, Ohio.
