Young Jack Walden
Young Jack Walden September 28, 1933- January 17, 2005 COLUMBUS, GA Young Jack Walden, 71, of Columbus, died at St. Francis Hospital Monday, Jan. 17. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel with the Rev. Mike McBride officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Walden was born Sept. 28, 1933 in Columbus, son of the late B.L. and Clara Pike Walden. He had retired from the Sunshine Biscuit Company after several years as a Confectioner, and he was an active member of Trinity Temple Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Faye K. Walden of Columbus; two children, Robert Walden of Columbus; Sherry Smith and her husband, Robert of Wedgefield, S.C.; four sisters, Mildred Yarbrough, Kathy Barrett and her husband, Jim all of Tallahassee, Fla., Rita Meredith and her husband, Johnny of Phenix City, Janice Palmer and her husband, Dave of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Bill Walden and his wife, Lucille, of Phenix City, Ben Walden and his wife, Shirley of Cataula, Ga.; two grandchildren, Patrick Smith and Amber Smith both of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews.
