  [S166] Davis County Clipper, (Utah Digital Newspapers), 1 (Reliability: 3), 24 Aug 1900. Syracuse Seepings: Thomas Briggs had his ankle quite badly bruised on Friday. He had been up Weber canyon after wood and was returning home. Near the mouth of the canyon he slipped some way and got his foot under and between the logs. He had a companion but he was a considerable distance behind; so he had to remain in the position he was in until his partner came to his rescue.
