  Myrtle Harris Conway - a member of the Phenix City Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was active in community fund raising for battered women, abused children, the Heart fund, the Cancer fund, and much more. She traveled to the Holy Land several times and was even fired on when riding in a tour bus. On her return, she was much in demand at all the local churches to talk of her Holy Land experiences and impressions. Myrtle represented Phenix City in the Senior Mrs. Alabama contest in Birmingham where she won 4th place and Mrs. Congeniality
