      Deceased Name: Samuel Williams Taylor
ROY - Samuel Williams Taylor, 81, passed away in the early morning hours, Tuesday, July 26, 2005, following an extended illness.

He was born August 22, 1923, in Clinton, a son of George and Hettie Taylor. He spent his early years on the family farm in Clinton and later took a job repairing aircraft in Salt Lake City.

In February, 1943, he was drafted into the Army and assigned to the crew of a B-24 bomber. Based in south-eastern England, his crew flew 30 missions over Germany and occupied France, earning them the Distinguished Flying Cross.

While home on leave in July 1945, Sam married Marilyn Alberts, of Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in April, 1964. Their family grew to include five children and 14 grandchildren.

He worked in aircraft maintenance and cataloging from 1947 until his retirement in 1977.

Sam could often be found at the family cabin in Manilla fishing and spending time with his loved ones. His quiet and unassuming nature often belied the deep concern and love that he felt for his family.

He was a Roy resident for 48 years and was a member of the Roy 8th Ward. He was a member of the Roy Elks and Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Sam is survived by a son, Glen Taylor, Roy; and a daughter, Diann (Kim) Olson, Clearfield.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, two sons, Dale and Lloyd and a daughter, Irene.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquists Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45a.m., at the mortuary.

      Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
