At 2 a. m. Tuesday, the soul of Thomas Todd took its flight from the tired and worn out body that had been its habitation for over eighty-eight years. Another of the early pioneers, both to Utah and to the valley, has passed away and coming from that hardy Scotch ?, to withstand the rigors and hardships of pioneer life.

In the fall of 1857 he spent sixty=six days in Echo canyon Standing guard against the advance of Johnson’s army.
