  Walter S. Ensley, 76, of Rt 1, Alexander died Tuesday in an Asheville Hospital after a long illness. He is the son of the late Harley and Cornelia Wilde Ensley of Madison County, a retired merchant and farmer and had lived in Buncombe County for 70 years. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ensley of Thomasville; two grandchildren and a greatgrandchild. Services will be held at 11am Friday in Oakridge Baptist Church, of which he was a member and a deacon. The Reverends Ben L.Honeycutt and Clyde Parham will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pall bearers will be Jonah Fisher, J.V. Brown, CarlFox, Kyle Martin, Willis Banks and Charles Bradley. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 today at Bowman-Duckett Funeral Home,Marshall, where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.
