Bushart from the Bushart Family Research Assistance centerlists the birth place as Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina On July 19, 1913, Troy lost a hand and three toes in an accident by an inter-urban car by Southern Traction Company, his father sued the company but got nothing but the doctor bill paid.
