      TOWHEY, WILLIAM J., 77 - of Tuckerton, died Thursday, March 2 at Southern Ocean County Hospital.

      He was born in Philadelphia, resided in Hainesport, moving to Tuckerton in 1978 and permanently in 1988.

      Bill was a retired Steel Worker for US Steel, Fairless Hills, PA.

      He was a Life Member of Hainesport Fire & Emergency Squads, Tuckerton Beach Assoc., Habitat for Humanity, and Tuckerton Seaport.

      Survived by wife, Dorothy; son, William and wife Patricia, daughter Laurie Valvardy and husband Patrick, both of Hainesport; brother, James and wife Nancy, Atlanta, GA; sister, Marie Deola and husband Joe, Little Egg Harbor; grandchildren, Hannah, Aidan, Patrick Jr., Candace & Shawn; many nieces and nephews.

      Services will be held Saturday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, Tuckerton. Relatives & friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Cremation will be private.

      Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Great Bay 1st Aid Squad or Hainesport Fire and Emergency Squads.
