Charles Denard Booth Sr.
Charles Denard Booth, Sr. December 26, 1933- December 20, 2004 COLUMBUS, GA Charles Denard Booth, Sr. passed away at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta on Monday, Dec. 20, Born Dec. 26, 1933 in Columbus, he was the son of the late Jeffie Ransom Booth and Lattie Mae Moose Booth. Mr. Booth had resided in Pine Mountain, Ga., for the past five years. Prior to his move to Pine Mountain, he had been raised in and had resided in Columbus. Mr. Booth was a veteran, having served in the 82nd Armored Division during the 1950's. He and his family lived in Newhall, Calif. during the 1960's. Mr. Booth was an astute business man, having owned and operated Ace Plumbing Company since 1969 and Booth Plumbing Company, Inc., a mechanical contracting firm since 1974, as well as, other business enterprises. He believed in the adage that "no other success in life can compensate for failure in the home" so the Focus of his life was always his family and his church. Mr. Booth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had served in many callings over the years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He followed the admonitions of the Savior and will always be remembered for his many silent acts of kindness and generosity to people. He believed in helping the widow and the fatherless and did so quietly with no fanfare. Mr. Booth is survived by his wife of fifty years, Margaret Murphy Booth of Pine Mountain, Ga.; sons, Charles "Chuck" Booth, Jr. (Becky) of Pine Mountain, Timothy F. Booth (Janice) of El Paso, Texas, Daniel S. Booth (Beth) of Fortson, Ga., Steven K. Booth of Columbus; he was loving grandfather "Paw-Paw" to Amanda Booth, Chad Booth, and Tyler Booth, Lori Starling, Jodi Hamby and Sydney Hamby, Jacob Booth, Conner Booth and Andrew Booth, Katherine Booth, Zach Booth and Sam Booth, Emily Booth and Anna Booth; brothers, Wallace R. Booth (Joan) and Oliver K. Booth; sister, Doris Booth Christenson; as well as loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He left a giant hole in our lives and in the lives of all who knew him. Funeral Services will be held Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stake Center at 4400 Reese Road according to Vance-Brooks Funeral Home. President Russell Funk will be officiating and he will be assisted by Greg Stewart. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 4048 Macon Rd. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to LDS Perpetual Education Fund or a charity of your choice.
