Prather, Oliver Bruce

Prather Creek: 2 1/2 miles long, and enters into Daves Creek, is east of Kelowna. Named after Oliver Bruce Prather, who pre-empted in 1893. Came in a covered wagon trek of Missourians who originally homesteaded in Idaho in 1880.

October 6, 1904 edition of the Kelowna Clarion: Mr. and Mrs. Prather and Orva returned from a few months visit to St. Louis fair and Eastern States.

Oliver married McClure, Martha Kendall on 14 May 1883 in Moscow, Latah, Idaho. Martha (daughter of McClure, John Barnett and Goodhue, Martha Jane) was born on 20 Sep 1866 in Eola, Polk, Oregon; died on 10 Oct 1956 in Bellingham, Whatcom, Washington; was buried in Oct 1956 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ferndale, Whatcom, Washington.
