Brigham Young’s Birthday.
The Fifth Ward Primary Association met to celebrate President Brigham Young’s birthday. Friday June 14, 1895. At 3 o’clock the children met at the meeting house and marched out to Sister William McNeil’s. The lady has been unable to leave her room, unless wheeled in a chair, for nearly 27 years.
The children all joined in singing, after which three of the girls presented Sister McNeil with bouquets of flowers.
At 3:50 the association, numbering 120, reassembled at the meeting house lawn, where the following programme was rendered.
Singing, “Let us sing glad happy songs together,� by the association. The Lord’s Prayer was offered by Alex Nelson. Counselor Leoline Hurst spoke a short time about our celebration, followed by a recitation by Nellie Hurst, the selection was composed especially for President Young. Kate Anderson and Rose Sorenson sang a song entitled “The Unknown Grave.� A recitation entitled “The Gambler’s Wife, “ was given by Nellie Hayball. A song was sung by Lucile Paul. A recitation entitled “Welcome to all� was nicely rendered by Wesley Anderson. Bishop William Hyde spoke a short time in favor of our celebration, followed by President Mary H. Anderson, who also spoke on the same subject, also asked the children to pray for Sister McNeil.
After the program refreshments were served and the children enjoyed themselves after in playing games.
In the evening some of the older member went up to Brother Chas. Batt’s, ward chorister, taking them some refreshments.

Logan, May 29, - Mrs. A. E. Anderson, a daughter-in-law of Mayor Anderson, died today at 4 p.m. after a long and severe illness.
