Mary Greenwood Giles of Heber, one of our oldest residents, died at the home of her son, C.W. Giles, on Monday of this week.
Mrs. Giles was born in the old country on March 31, 1818, and passed away at the ripe old age of 90 years, general debility being the cause of her death.
? came to Utah and for a time lived in Provo but of late years she has been a constant resident of Heber. Three children, viz: Mrs. Joseph Moulton, Thomas Giles and C.W. (?, together with a host of Grand Children survive to honor the memory of the aged mother.
The funeral services were held under the direction of the third ward Bishoprick at the stack house on Wednesday afternoon with a goodly number of the town people present. The musical numbers were under the direction of the third ward choir and the speakers were Orson Hicken, Frederick Giles, Patriarch Hicken, Patriarch Duke and J. E. D. Tomlinson all of whom spoke highly of the life and character of Mrs. Giles.
